“Stay the Course”: Celebrating 50 Years of Practicing Law in Wyoming

In 1975, Stan Hathaway—memorialized by the Wyoming legislature as “one of Wyoming’s greatest natural resources”—and Brent Kunz—remembered for his dedication to protecting and advocating for Wyoming’s public lands—established the very legacy we’re celebrating today.
As anyone who had the honor of knowing Stan will tell you, he’d often advise others to “stay the course.”
Guided by this wisdom, and applying the same principles Stan and Brent set forth from day one, we’re moving into our 50th year of serving Wyoming—and looking toward the next 50 with the same optimism, excitement and determination that brought us here today.
From the pivotal early decisions that changed the very ethos of how we practice law, to the lore of Stan’s infamous office chairs, firm partners Lucas Buckley, Matt Kaufman and Marianne Shanor share some of their favorite stories from the past 50 years… and reflect on what’s to come.
