Hathaway & Kunz Team Secures Victory in Federal Jury Trial
Hathaway & Kunz Partner Sean Larson and Associates Brent Rhodes and Kari Hartman recently appeared in federal court before the Honorable Alan Johnson for a 4-day jury trial, on behalf of defendants Mountain States Water Service, Inc. and Justin Lorenzen.
Mountain States Water Service is a family-run business located in Big Piney, WY; Mr. Lorenzen is an experienced commercial vehicle operator.
After a vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 191 between Rock Springs and Pinedale, a plaintiff from Texas sued Mountain States Water Service and Mr. Lorenzen in the District of Wyoming.
Over the four-day trial, defense counsel was successful in arguing that the driver of the other vehicle was mostly at fault for the accident.
The jury ultimately issued a defense-friendly verdict, significantly limiting the amount of damages the plaintiff could recover from Mountain States Water Service and Mr. Lorenzen.
“Brent, Kari and I were thrilled to obtain the result and see that justice was served for our clients,” Sean stated of the verdict.
Our firm congratulates all three members of the defense team on this victory!
