A seasoned in-house counsel who has supported companies at all stages of expansion and development, Flavia is a legal and compliance executive with valuable expertise in strategic planning and operations of financial services businesses.
Known for her entrepreneurial vision, resourcefulness, and ability to quickly pivot, Flavia has extensive relationships with numerous top firms in the banking, money transmission and payments industries, and regularly practices before state and federal banking departments and agencies.
Flavia prides herself in being an innovation catalyst. During her career, Flavia led varied financing rounds for her clients including the largest round ever recorded in the digital assets industry at $440 million. In working as a legal business partner, she has driven enterprise valuation growth through the structuring of different corporate deals, launched diverse payments and money transmission products, established and managed legal departments servicing highly regulated industries, and directly supervised regulatory exams.
Prior to joining the firm of Hathaway & Kunz, Flavia was General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Circle, a global financial technology firm that enables businesses of all sizes to harness the power of stablecoins and public blockchains for payments, commerce and financial applications.
Additionally, Flavia has worked at different organizations in the SF Bay Area, engaging with industries ranging from software licensing and copyrights to entertainment, e-commerce and payments. She has also been appointed a Commissioner with the State of Wyoming to its Stable Token Commission.
Born and raised in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Flavia is active in the local immigrant community and provides mentoring to young professionals. She has also served as a Board member to different non-profit organizations in the SF Bay Area. She lives in Jackson Hole with her family, where they enjoy camping, hiking, and exploring National Parks.
