Born and raised in Wyoming, Sean understands that when you need legal representation in Wyoming, it should be done the Wyoming way. Diligent, determined, and driven, Sean strives to efficiently and effectively provide reasonable and rational counsel in your time of need.

Sean’s practice is focused on civil litigation, business transactions, and administrative compliance, as he strives to provide common-sense solutions to simple and complex problems during your time of need. The primary areas of law he practices include corporate governance, business, energy, natural resources, contract, personal injury, workplace accident, insurance defense, administrative, corporate custodianship and receivership, intellectual property, trade secret, probate, trust administration, real estate, project permitting, litigation appeal, sports and entertainment, and legalized gaming. Sean handles other areas and intricacies of civil practice in Wyoming, many of which he experienced during his time clerking in state and federal court.

Practice Areas

Sean attended college and played football at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota, enjoying his six years in the Bismarck area. After graduating then working for two years, Sean attended law school in Saint Paul, Minnesota, for one year before circling the wagons back to Wyoming for his final two years of law school.

After graduating law school in 2013, Sean moved to Cheyenne to serve as law clerk to the Honorable Steven K. Sharpe of the First Judicial District Court of Wyoming. At the end of his two-year term, Sean served one year as law clerk to the Honorable Alan B. Johnson of the United States District Court of Wyoming. The mentorship provided by Judge Sharpe and Judge Johnson was invaluable and shapes his practice today.

Sean experienced numerous areas of both state and federal law while serving as a law clerk, experiencing cases concerning guardianships and conservatorships, probate, personal injury, workplace accident, medical malpractice, product liability, business, corporate governance, corporate custodianship, trust administration, estate litigation, energy, environment, natural resources, contract, Wyoming and federal administrative, appellate process, workers’ compensation, as well as in the areas of criminal and domestic. During his three years clerking, Sean prepared for and attended more than 20 jury trials.

In addition to his courtroom experience, Sean is a published legal writer and focused researcher who searches for the “why” underlying the written law. In one of his law review articles, Sean urged for a shift in Wyoming law concerning a court’s assessment when a custodial parent relocates. In another law review article, Sean advocated for the Wyoming Legislature to better clarify the law concerning Wyoming search warrants for electronically stored information located in other states.
